This three day camp will focus on building competence and gaining confidence to make it even more fun in the waves. It’s all about building competence, increasing confidence and having a helluva lot of FUN! No matter what level of paddler you are, you are guaranteed to come away with something new.
We will start out with calm water skill building and safety sessions, then make our way into the waves for some in and outs before we tackle a group downwind or two. You’ll have the chance to join Leanne in the OC2 to see, feel and hear what’s going on in her head as she guides you through the waves before you get to take over the steering.
You can expect at least 5 sessions (on water & dryland) over the three days. Water sessions will be 90+ minutes. You will have breaks between morning and afternoon sessions when we do doubles.
We’d love to get together for a potluck/byob dinner on Tuesday or Wednesday night (weather permitting) to hear your paddling stories, share challenges we face as women in a male dominated sporting world, and talk everything from sports bras to cheek chaffing (if you know, you know!) and guilt for taking time for ourselves to confidence builders, and everything in between (including getting back on your boat without busting your boobs).
Location of each session will depend on the weather and our session goals, so you need to have a way for Leanne to communicate with you before and during camp.
